Net-It Central Technology - Contributor

Net-It Central 4.1 is a complete publishing system. The Net-It Central Contributor is a browser-based module of this system that is designed for the business end-user. With the Contributor, users can publish and organise documents and manage sites from within their browser. Whether they are located on-site or off-site, the Contributor is the fastest and easiest way for them to publish to the Intranet or Extranet.

Another feature of the Contributor is the ability to add, edit and extract Document Information or "Metadata" per document. End-users can choose from multiple fields (set by the administrator) such as "author," "project," "department," and many more. Once published, the Metadata can be efficiently searched and quick, at-a-glance information per document is provided too.

Furthermore, if documents in the site already contain Metadata, such as summary information that is available in MS Office documents, this data can be automatically extracted which saves valuable data input time.
